Properly Cooked Porridge
Jun. 24th, 2005 10:57 pmJen and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary this weekend (yes, it was 6 years ago) by going to Bed and Breakfast in Stow, MA. The B&B is called the "Amerscot House", and its proprietors are Scottish, which led Jen to wonder if they would be offering us Black Pudding for breakfast. I then pointed out that in Dungeons and Dragons, black puddings are actually rather fiendish monsters. Jen, completely ignoring my irrelevant tangent, then mentioned "properly cooked porridge" as another possible benefit of a Scottish host. Of course, I didn't realize she was ignoring me, and thought that "properly cooked porridge" might be a new D&D monster.
I thought it was funny, but Jen didn't find it particularly amusing. Oh well. :)
